Mélissa

Ambassador

Mélissa Faustin

Mélissa is a resilient woman who can live, succeed, and fulfil herself despite adversity.

Mélissa Faustin sees music as a significant weapon that develops the spirit, the brain. She began taking piano classes at the age of 7. She went to college at École de musique Vincent d’Indy and continued at Université de Montréal where she obtained a master’s degree in musicology. She teaches piano and theory at École de musique Vincent d’Indy.

As a passionate about singing, Mélissa decided to take courses to perfect her art. In 2012, she was a finalist in the song contest Superphantastico, and she performed at Salle Maisonneuve in Place des Arts. In 2013 and 2015, she offered a recital at Salle Oliver-Jones for the Festival des arts de Montréal-Nord. Her perseverance led her in 2014 to the Salle Wilfried-Pelletier with the Opéra de Montréal in the Porgy and Bess production.

To her, the cause of women and girls is vital. She has always wanted to contribute to making things move as she went through monstrosities herself. After several collaborations with Femmes en Emploi as an artist, Mélissa was pleased to become the organization’s ambassador in 2016. Thanks to this role, she is also a voice for the voiceless!
