2016: Drawing Contest

2016: Drawing Contest

On the International Day of the Girl Child, Femmes en Emploi and FOVA (Fondation Voix Angélique) organized a great free drawing contest from September 1 to October 1, 2016. It was open to all children and teenagers who like to draw or paint, on the theme: “For me, the International Day of the Girl is…”

They had to create a drawing and accompany it with a short text to explain the place of girls in the world and what can make them happy.

The work gave the jury members Emmanis Jean-Louis, grand prize winner of a drawing contest for Laval in 2013; Anite Martin-Marseille, a social worker; and Youri-Jones Vilmay, an amateur illustrator.

The drawing techniques were free: pencils, paint, felt pens, pastels, collages or digital files.

The three most beautiful drawings in each category: 6-8 years old, 9-11 years old and 12-17 years old, will be exhibited tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, starting at 5:00 pm at the Maison Culturelle et Communautaire de Montréal-Nord, located at 12004 Rolland Boulevard, Montréal-Nord, QC, Montréal H1G 3W.

You were numerous to participate, and we congratulate you all. We are happy to announce the names of the three winners, plus exceptionally a special mention.

Several prizes in each category will be awarded. Find out in person tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from the hands of the Mayor of Montreal North, Ms. Christine Black.
