15th Quebec Week of Intercultural Encounters

15th Quebec Week of Intercultural Encounters

The 15th Quebec Week of Intercultural Encounters (Semaine québécoise des rencontres interculturelles, SQRI) was held throughout Quebec from October 23 to 29, 2017, including our beautiful city, Laval.

The SQRI is an opportunity to highlight the important contribution of Quebecers of all origins to Quebec’s development, encourage dialogue, and foster intercultural ties.

It also highlights immigration and ethnocultural diversity’s positive contribution in Quebec and fights against prejudice and discrimination.

In Quebec, the exchange between cultures and the bringing together of communities contribute to our society’s enrichment and are encouraged.

People of different origins and cultures live together in harmony and contribute to the survival of French, our everyday language.

Four Laval organizations (CLICS Laval, ALCTL, Femmes en Emploi and École Musique Vimont School) have joined together to celebrate this week, with the support of the City of Laval and MIDI (Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion).

A wide range of activities with a high human flavour was on the program.
See you soon for the 16th Semaine québécoise des rencontres interculturelles.
